FAQs

New Customers

To set up an account, please contact our office at 705-313-2082. Provide your full name, address, primary and secondary contact numbers, and an email address. This is also the perfect time to share your preferred payment method for your grain.
Yes, but whatever name is set up on the account is the name that will print on your paperwork and cheques. If you want to be paid personally, you need to put the account in your personal name. If you want a payment made in your farm’s name, set up the account with your farm name on it.

Unloading Procedures

  1. Pull up to the scale and wait for the green light.

  2. Pull onto the scale and make sure you’re close to the speaker on the driver’s side to advise who the load is for and what you are delivering.

  3. Once you are given the green light, pull off the scale and proceed to the probe on your right hand side beside the office, wait again for the second green light to proceed to the pit to unload after your load has been probed.

  4. After unloading proceed back to the scale and wait for a green light.

  5. Pull onto the scale and wait for your last green light to pull off.

  6. Your paperwork will be sent out to the yellow mailbox on the left as you pull off the scale.

  7. Put the tube in the pail under the mailbox and ALWAYS CHECK your ticket to make sure it is yours and appears as it should.

  1. Pull up to the probe on the south side of the office.

  2. You can pull up to either the left, or right side of the probe, wait until you are probed before driving away. This is a good time to tell us who the load is for and what you are delivering, or wait until you are on the scale to tell us.

  3. Drive around to the left hand side and pull onto the scale so you are facing west (County Road 40). As you are on the scale, wait for the green light.

  4. When given the green light, pull off the scale and drive ahead to the red building where the pits are. There are 3 doors, all marked with what number each door is and what commodity is supposed to be in each pit.

  5. When you’re done unloading, pull ahead, proceed onto the scale facing west (County Road 40) where you’ll wait for another green light when finished.

  6. The ticket will be handed out the door with the platform at the office, above the scale to your left.

  7. When handed your ticket, ALWAYS CHECK to make sure it is yours and appears as it should.

Grain Sales

The markets are open from 8:00 pm to 8:45 am and again from 9:30 am to 2:20 pm daily, Sunday night to Friday afternoon. The markets are closed on weekends. We also make sure to post a notice on our website when the markets are closed for holidays.
Grain prices listed on our website are based on futures markets with a 10-minute delay, unless otherwise noted. Since markets can shift quickly, prices may change at any time. If you’re making a time-sensitive decision, it’s best to give us a quick call or text to confirm the most current numbers.
Your grain is not automatically sold, it will be sold when you instruct us to do so.
Only at the Campbellford location. No grain can be sold at our Trenton location.

There are three ways that you can sell your grain: target orders, selling on arrival, or selling out of storage.

You can call or text 705-313-2082 or 705-930-3488 to contact the office or Donna. You can also email donna@maizeingacresinc.com.

  • Producers find it easier to keep it consistent with how they contact us to sell. Whichever you prefer, try to keep it the same.  For example if you text to sell your grain, contact us that way consistently. It is beneficial to text or email us to have a written record of previous sales/conversation.

A target order is one way for you to sell grain at a specific price you want. Instead of watching the market all the time, you set a price you’re happy with, and once the market hits that number, the sale happens automatically.

Payments can be set up for direct deposit, by cheque and mailed or picked up at the office.

  • A direct deposit form can be found inside your dashboard account under the Resources menu. We highly suggest that you get your direct deposit set up before harvest season.

An email will be sent with the attached grain settlement statement. If no email is available, it will be mailed to the account address.
Dockage is the unwanted foreign material mixed in with harvested grain—things like weed seeds, broken kernels, straw, or dirt. When you sell grain, we remove this material to determine the clean grain weight, which is what you get paid for. The more dockage you have, the less usable grain you’re selling, so keeping it low helps maximize your profits.
