Friday’s grain markets will be open from 9:30am – 1:05pm. This is shortened trading session because of Thursday’s Thanksgiving holiday in the US.

Happy New Year. I hope we don’t cause you too much grief with the switch over to the new website. It seems to be going smoothly so far. Call if you are having problems. Nobody likes change at first but I think this will bring some big benefits. Cash prices will be live so you see immediate impact of USDA reports, you will see contracts, target orders (and figure out why you don’t have enough of them ;0)), settlement statements, scale tickets, etc.

Markets have been suffering from the holiday doldrums. The next big mover is likely the Jan 10 WASDE report. This will put the final production number on the 25 crop. We will also see updated usage projections. Demand has been huge so I suspect if there is a surprise it is a bump in usage causing a stocks reduction. Time will tell.

Any grain being taken out of Maizeing Acres Inc. or Victoria County Grains will be subject to a $13/tonne handling charge (that includes inbound and outbound) plus any applicable drying or storage charges. Call with questions.

Delivered grain is NOT automatically sold.  It WILL automatically be applied to any contracts that you have. If you do not have any contracts, or your contracts are full, it will go into storage.  There are no storage charges until October 25.  If you want your grain to be sold as it arrives, please call us and let us know.  Otherwise, your grain will stay in storage until you instruct us to sell it. Call with any questions.
